September 2024 Update
What is happening.
I joined a writing group called The Inkwells a few months ago and it has been one of the best things I could have done. We meet weekly and review each other’s current work in process. I knew I had a good story in the works, BUT… having my peers review and comment on it has made it a thousand times better. I’ve spent the time every week making updates and adding more content thanks to the input from my fellow Inkwellers.
In addition, I did my first local craft fair last month and had a blast. It was fun to talk with readers like you and sell a few books in the process. I was thrilled to find someone later that day sitting in a chair reading my book, oblivious to the world around him.
What I’m Reading
The Treachery of Ravens by Steven D Nickell. This Steam Punk Fantasy book has been a fantastic read. Steve kept multiple plots going while he slowly weaved them into a fantastic ending. One of the best first-time novels you can get.
Melody by David Hoffer.
I have always liked first contact books, and this book did not disappoint.
It is a chance to see how humanity would react if we found out that we are not alone.
From conspiracy theories to government coverups, military and scientific advancements, to thoughts of reincarnation.
Looking ahead.
I’ve had to limit my writing to when it is cool enough in my office where the summer heat doesn’t cause me to melt. I can say that I am looking forward to some cooler weather in the coming months. Even with the heat, I do get some time every week to dedicate to writing. While the word count isn’t growing as fast as I would like it, I am happy with the words I am putting on paper.
One Response
